Important Safety Advice
All Men Take Note!
There have been a number of violent attacks taking place in the Ipswich area in recent weeks.
In order to protect the innocent, we would ask you to take the following precautions:
Stay at home if you do not need to go out.
If you do need to leave your homes after dark, please remember the following important safety advice:
Avoid unpopulated areas.
Ensure you do not go out alone. Any man found out at night who is not accompanied by either a responsible woman or several responsible men may arouse suspicion.
Please ensure that you carry photographic proof of your identity at all times.
Remember a MAN or MEN are responsible for the violent attacks.
You must be extra-vigilant. If you see anyone, especially a man, acting suspiciously, it is your duty to report this to the police so that they can investigate. It is your responsibility to help the police find the attacker or attackers by STAYING OFF THE STREETS.
Remember the person responsible is a regular user of street-based sex workers.
This means that, above all, YOU can help the police to prevent further attacks and catch the person responsible, by refraining from the use of street-based sex workers at this time. By buying sex on the streets you may make it easier for attacks to take place, and harder for police officers to identify the person responsible. By stopping this activity, you will enable the police force to provide effective protection for the community.
WARNING: ALL MEN FOUND ON THE STREETS ALONE AFTER DARK WILL BE SUBJECT TO STOP AND SEARCH AND MAY BE ARRESTED AS A PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE – PARTICULARLY IF ASSOCIATING WITH STREET-BASED SEX WORKERS
Thank you for your co-operation.
