I’ve noticed increasingly lately that Baby Maia has pretty much stopped sucking her thumb. Occasionally, when distressed, her thumb might go to her mouth, but only for a moment before she realises “Nah, The Thumb won’t do it” and goes back to wailing.

I’m not sure if this is an improvement, because at least The Thumb was an effective self-soothing device. But it’s certainly one in the eye for anyone who ever told me she would be sucking it forever and that I was better off giving her a dummy because at least I’d be able to control that. Ha!
